The Ơ-đu (O Du, also known as TÀY HẠT - is one of the smallest ethnic groups in Vietnam and Laos. According to the 2009 Population and Housing Census, O Du people in Viet Nam have a population of 376 people, centrally living in the province of Nghe An (340 people, accounting for 90.4% of the total number of O Du people in Viet Nam), in Ho Chi Minh City (12 people), Hanoi (7 people), Lam Dong (4 people), Dong Nai (4 people) ... In Laos: According to estimation of the Ethnologue, there is about 194 people O Du living in Xieng Khouang province. Their population is increased to 969 people in 2016.
