"We have eaten the forest: The story of a Montagnard village in the Central Highlands of Vietnam" is a classic ethnographic study by Professor Georges Condominas, published in 1957, based on documents he recorded while living with the villagers of Sar Luk on the Central Highlands, Vietnam. In 1948-1949, when he was only 27 years old, G. Condominas went to live for a long time with the villagers of Sar Luk, observing and studying on the spot, without translating, about the lives of the Mnong Gar here. The way of researching "ethnography as an art of living" has helped him obtain famous writing works. In addition to a work on the theory of the structure of a society, he has provided in this book an accurate and detailed picture of the way of life of the people who make up that society, and the way they carry out the existence of that very cultural "pattern" with concrete examples drawn from everyday reality.
